I provide professional barbering services directly inside community spaces to eliminate traditional barriers and increase access to vital personal care. Grooming is deeply personal. A haircut can involve vulnerability, trust, communication differences, unique sensory needs, or past traumas that impact how someone engages.

Creating a Mobile Sanctuary

A quality haircut should never be a luxury out of reach. Financial hardship, physical disabilities, mobility challenges, and severe anxiety should not prevent anyone from feeling clean, confident, and deeply cared for. Yet, for many of our neighbors navigating these struggles or experiencing homelessness, basic personal care is a missing piece of daily dignity.

The Pull Up Barber Project was started to fill that gap, but to truly meet people where they are, we need to take our mission to the next level. That is why we are raising money to purchase and build out a custom mobile barbershop bus. This vehicle is far more than just a set of wheels or a way to get from place to place. It is a mobile sanctuary designed from the ground up to provide professional grooming services in a highly controlled environment. For an individual dealing with severe anxiety, sensory overload, or neurodivergence, a traditional storefront barbershop can be an overwhelming barrier. The bright lights, loud music, crowded waiting areas, and constant chatter can turn a simple haircut into a stressful ordeal. The mobile bus completely changes that dynamic.

By designing a private, self-contained space on wheels, we can eliminate sensory triggers, offer true privacy, and provide a calm, mindful environment where everyone feels safe and respected. Furthermore, the bus allows us to bring this sanctuary directly to shelters, community centers, and neighborhoods where transportation itself is an obstacle. It brings collective care right to the front door of those who need it most.

The Pull Up Barber Project operates entirely on a community-funded model. We believe that caring for our neighbors is a shared responsibility, which is why our services remain 100% free for everyone we serve.
